Abstract
A record number of students with dyslexia from all over the world are requesting testing accommodations from the Educational Testing service (ETS) for the GRE, GMAT, and the TOEFL tests. Although students with documented dyslexia are seeking accommodations for the standardized testing in record numbers, the quality of the documentation that is often submitted is limited in scope and content. Workshop participants will learn first hand what types of LD and ADHD documentation are adequate and what components of diagnostic reports are key to supporting the requested accommodations. The range and specific types of accommodations provided for test takers with dyslexia will also be addressed. The Intent of this session is to describe what constitutes appropriate disability documentation to support testing accommodations and to provide attendees with specific information on how to evaluate diagnostic reports from forgein countries that may not be complete, Actual case studies which will include disability documentation from a variety of forgein countries will be shared. All participants will also receive copies of the 'ETS policy Statements for documentation of LD and ADHD' and the Documentation Guidelines for Psychiatric Disabilities'.
