Abstract

We would like to present data from our current research portfolio. First we summarise data on over 10000 clients who presented to DDAT UK with learning difficulties. The data are based on extensive questionnaires, assessments and examinations. The data will include statistics on family history, birth history, developmental milestones, assessment of gross and fine motor coordination symptoms, literacy and memory difficulties, attention assessments and electrophysiological and clinical examination findings. It will represent one of the most extensive broad based assessments ever produced and will be submitted for publication at the time of the conference so this data will be previewed exclusively by audiences at the BDA conference. Second we present retrospective data on clients who have finished the DDAT interventions for more than 6 months. We present follow up analysis of clients who have successfully completed the DDAT intervention programme. This is an ongoing project of all clients and we expect these to number reach 3000 by the time of the cut off point for research presentation to the conference. Existing clients were sent a questionnaire to fill in 6 months after being signed off from the DDAT programme. The extensive questionnaire included areas of literacy, memory, attention, mood, self esteem, and motor skills. We also ask about academic changes with evidence from school performance, SATs results, and examination performance.
