Abstract
Society in Belgium is at least bilingual and in Luxembourg is multilingual. This presentation will look at the difficulties in finding solutions to learning problems in these environments. Additional problems arise for the mobile, international community especially for families with children who are dyslexic, dyspraxic or manifesting other learning difficulties. The talk will include: a model of parent/teacher expectation, taking account of cultural differences parental attitudes teacher training the effect of school policies testing and assessment of the multilingual child the role of support groups
