Abstract
The broad aim of the project is to develop a standalone computer based assessment platform for lower level cognitive ability/deficits. The working hypothesis is that one can accurately assess early pre-deficit symptoms of learning disabilities (e.g. dyslexia and ADHD). Stand-alone functionality means that all assessment will be automatically carried out by computer, generating an online evolving database, so that each assessment adds to the reliability of the testing procedure. Current research concerns the measurement of visual attentional capacity and visual working memory in individuals with a specific learning disability (compared with matched non-impaired individuals). The discriminative value of visual field alignment, semantic enrichment, recall and reverse-recall of objects will be reported.
