Abstract
The proposed paper aims to discuss practical ways of using the new technologies to assist learners with dyslexia. Moving beyond the theoretical framework that advocates the use of Information and Communication technology to support curriculum access, the presentation uses the symptomatology identified in dyslexic learners as the baseline for developing a more 'dynamic' approach to the use of technology. It mainly examines and suggests the potentials that standard content-free packages can provide. Apart from the reliance to the breadth of very useful and elaborate subject-specific CD ROMs, there is always the need for exploring how the generic features provided by standard packages could contribute to more engaging educational sessions. The session will offer practical suggestions for using the computer to cater for the learning styles of dyslexic learners accompanied and reinforced with ideas from the Internet.
